ABOUT RIA MATHEW

Moi
I am Ria, a happy-go-lucky girl who loves to cook and bake. I'm the stylist and the photographer behind this small space on the net. I started my blog as an extension to my diary, for recording the recipes that I collect and experiment with.I currently live in the USA with my husband, Jobin ,in our lovely little condominium overlooking the downtown of the city where we live.I strongly believe 'being simple is classy!'
Paniyaram & Chutney

Blogging & me : O! Good gracious! I never thought I could ever be so addicted to something ! :D But yes, blogging has taken over my life. It introduced me to a world of 'real good things' , which is none other than food food and more food! 'Good Lord! What all can people do with food?' was my first question when I browsed through some blogs before I started mine. And now, I see myself doing a whole lot of those stuffs with what I bake/cook.

Camera & I : We were never in good terms before (none of my cams lasted for more than 12 months!) but now, we are inseparable. It is with me wherever I go! Guess, I am developing a taste for photography other than food :) Till December 25 2010 I had a basic point and shoot camera, but last Christmas, Jobin gifted me my first professional camera,Canon Rebel T2i and I love it!
Boat
Other than blogging, my life revolves around my family, friends and hobbies like hand embroidery, sketching, tatting, crocheting, etc.I enjoy blogging a lot and I am so happy to have met a lot of like-minded great foodie friends!

SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1.Did you design your blog or did a third party do it for you? Could you help me designing my blog or tell me the secrets?

Yes, I did all what you see here with the template Blogger provided me with. There are no secrets,I did it by reading tons of articles online, spending a lot of time understanding each of them. It is highly time consuming therefore, I will not be able to assist you in creating/designing a blog of your own.

2. Do you eat all what you cook and bake? How is it that you remain healthy and in shape?

Yes, we both eat all what I cook and bake.He runs every morning but I don't :-) I usually halve or sometimes even quarter the recipe so that it serves us just once and doesn't hang around in the house for a long time.

3.Why do you use different types of measurements for different recipes? Could you give us the conversions for each?

This is a personal foodblog and I write the recipes the way I make it at home.If you want to convert any of the recipes from cups to grams please use any of the tools that you can find online for conversion. I don't think I can write a recipe  two ways as it takes up a lot of time.

4.Can we suggest recipes/ Can we request recipes?

You can definately do that but I cannot guarantee you that it will be published.

Hi Ria,
I loved reading your description of yourself and it sounded very similar to what I would say if I could write as well as you can. I am a Gemini, love cooking and baking in particular and photography, but my main area is painting. Now I find it is all connected. I love your blog and will visit you again. My challenge for this month is to take part in your "Chocolate Extravaganza". Off now to bake and take pictures. Glad I found your blog.
